All my hard work is starting to pay off. Ran the 10k course, including hill, yesterday in 1:04. Goal is to have a 9:30pace by end of summer. I am so excited!

4 and a half minutes slower than last time. All of the extra time was on hspu. I can't remember the last time they came up in a wod, so I guess I could use some work on them.

9am WOD: 20:13
I did it at work, the HSPU's took 5 mins on their own, everything else went really well tho. I think its time to start cranking out HSPU's daily, those things are bound to show up in the Opens soon.

Dear Fellow Crossfitters,

Ever since I joined CFHSV, I have wanted an opportunity to share my faith in Jesus
Christ with my fellow Crossfitters. As a believer in Christ, I would not be a very good Christian or a very good friend to you if I did not want you to share my faith in Him. I will make this as brief as possible, without neglecting to tell you that the Bible teaches us that we can know where we will spend eternity, that our sins can be forgiven, and that we can receive a full pardon from God through the blood atonement of His Son Jesus.

Why all of a sudden, you ask, am I emboldened to do this, and to possibly risk the friendship of people I admire and care about? :-) Allow me for the moment to blame Jake! I began to notice that occasionally, when Jake posts on this website, he uses a Bible verse. To me, that was a slight jab from the Lord telling me I need to use the tools at hand, i.e., this website. The message I am sharing with you is not so popular in the world, but nonetheless, very necessary.

Now for the main point of my post. God says in His Word that all have sinned. He goes on to describe sin and its effects and behavioral characteristics in explicit terms in numerous places in the Bible. Jesus, in the New Testament, talked about what comes forth from the heart of man. I believe that if we are honest with ourselves, that the Bible’s description of sin has each one of us nailed dead to rights. Sin is the disease, we are all infected, and there is only one cure. The cure is the blood of Christ. Believe on (receive) the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.

This is not a flattering, feel-good message such as is presented in many churches today. Many preachers have either mingled biblical truth with error (such as Freudian concepts of human personality and problems), or outright rejected the Bible as the standard by which God judges His creation/creatures. If sin is the true reason for all the misery and suffering in the world, then it is no wonder why the Bible teaches that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Sin is a most serious disease, and takes a serious remedy to be cured.

The Bible says that the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness. The Bible also says that by the foolishness of preaching, men are saved (come to belief in Christ). True, some preachers are not very eloquent, but the message and not the delivery is what’s important.

I was saved when I was 22 years old. That’s a long time ago now, but the more I’ve learned of the scriptures, the more I trust them to be the very Word of God. I won’t go into all of the apologetics, but suffice to say that we all have the same set of evidence to view, and we all have presuppositions. I did too. But I thank the Lord for seeking me out, and giving me grace to believe in Him. By far, it was the best choice I ever made. It is a wonderful peace to know, by believing the promises in the book, that if your time comes up suddenly, that your soul is safe in Christ.

If any of you ever want to talk to me about these things, feel free.

Hello CFHSV,
If anyone is interested in a blue Buddy Lee Jump Rope similar to the one at this link
http://www.mcssl.com/store/1220297/catalog/product/761fe1d1434e47a2b2361050b0083e78

Please let me know. It is still sealed in the box with wrench. This is a great rope and I would like to give it to someone that does not already have a good jump rope and promises to work on their double-unders. First to call me at 256-603-9562 and promise to master DUs with this rope can have it. Once it is gone I will immediately post below it found a good athlete.

Everybody did great today. Stay on target for next week. Train Hard, Train Smart, Train to Survive!

Oh, and I went and ran the 5K afterward in the rain. I'm sure by the 1.5 mile mark I weighed 10 pounds more than when I started, there's some mid calf deep puddles out there. Time was between 20-22 minutes. Not sure exactly, just going off the time on my phone when I left and when I got back to my truck.

Glad to have helped Don.

I'm no saint (every athlete at CFHSV can attest to this I'm sure) and hardly the picture of a perfect Christian but like Don has said above, if anyone ever wants someone to talk to I would be more than happy to help. Along with not being a perfect Christian I also don't claim to know everything about Jesus and Chrsitianity but if you have a question that I don't know the answer to I won't lie and act as though I do. I will however do my best to find out the answer for you.

WOD 11.1
7+12

The old man schooled me again and reminded me who's boss by getting 15 double-unders that last round. Couldn't have been happier for him.

Great job to everyone who came out today and either re-did or took on WOD 11.1 for the first time.

Also, thanks for all the birthday wishes! They mean more than you know.
