Well we picked the sandbag up. No problem. But carrying that thing was a different story. Had to drop it after every 30 feet. My handstand walks were ok. We went over and over not to cross the starting line when you go down to walk. What does 5 do? Puts that hand down and goes right over the line by a half inch. No rep. Right out the gate. But that’s ok. I am not sure I could have beaten the guy in front of me anyways. So I ended up 5th in that workout.
One thing I’ve noticed is people get better every year. For example. The question used to be. Can you walk on your hands? Now it’s. How fast can you walk on your hands. Next year people will be running on their hands. It’s really amazing to see how good these people

Long chipper
All I can say is wow. Those boys ran off and left me. Came in last place. When I knew I was coming in last place. I cut it off with 2 minutes to go before time cap. Judge looked up at me waiting on me to do another hspu. I said to myself. You can look at me ALL YOU WANT. But I ain’t kicking back up on that wall no more.

Head Coach update:
Coach did all he could for me. I just didn’t have it today. After the long chipper we had an hour delay on our workout briefing because of bad weather and head coach got caught smoking in the corner of the gym. He told athlete control that storms make him nervous and being from Alabama that’s what he does to calm his nerves. He was placed on suspension under the condition he will not smoke inside. Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Paul, it’s been so awesome watching you throw down! I saw you on that bike yesterday and that was just pure grit! We’ve been talking about you before every class and nobody’s listening to the brief if you’re competing because everyone’s watching their phones... can’t say that I blame them! You’ve made everyone proud and we can’t wait to watch you finish the job today! Just know that we are all screaming, cheering and clapping for you even though you can’t hear us!

Duke, you've got a bunch of fans cheering for you. I'm pretty sure you'll be running on your hands in no time. If you need some help with those weights, I'll be happy to stay late one day to give you a couple of pointers. I'll likely just tell you to put more weight on the bar and eat more. Might sneak in a que to be in your heels or knees out. Just let COACH know I'm watching him too. Best of luck, you're amazing to watch!

Paul, actually one of the most disciplined things you do at the games, where scoring is based on place, not reps, is to hold back when your place is solid to not expend unnecessary strength and energy. Keep doing your thing. We're all proud of you!
