155 pound Squat Clean and Jerk, 30 reps

The barbell goes from ground to overhead, passing through a front squat in which the crease of the hip passes below the height of the kneecap. The finish position is with the arms, hips and knees fully extended, arms overhead, with at least a portion of the ear visible in front of the arm. Dropping the barbell is acceptable.

Austin Malleolo 3:01, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet 3:53 (105lbs).

WOW nelly. wk weight 10# more than B4B- 24 reps, had to strip weight in the beginning so lost some time, started too heavy. BUT got to feel my quads work more than ever and it was pretty cool.

Quite a bit more difficult than I anticipated. The first 10 reps went pretty well, but after that I spend a lot of time staring at the bar.

I did this yesterday afternoon after working out my baseball players. Some way or another I managed to put 175 on the bar and did 5 reps before I realized it was 175. I thought it seemed heavy, but didn't stop to check until I missed a clean. My previous C&J max was 175, so doing it 5 times in a row took some out of me. I regrouped, put the bar back to 155 and then started over from scratch.

11:05 RX'd

It was a suckfest.

If anyone is interested you can still sign up for the 5k we are running this Saturday. It benefits the wounded warrior project. If you want to sign up we have forms at the gym and you can leave a check for $20.00. I will be collecting them at the 4:30 class tomorrow and then handing them in as a group. If you can make this one, no worries! We will be running one about once a month so check back! If you are already signed up please check the message board!

-funny how you think small breaks are only 3-4 seconds but in reality are probably 8-10secs or so.

I did Grace on Saturday as rx'd in 5:24, so I thought I would try this one as rx'd too. Much more difficult. I managed to get 20 reps by the 10:00 cut off. That was enough for me.

Thought I would post my travel workout experience.
Well I was hoping to hit CrossFit Orlando today as I have been there and I really liked the gym and trainers, but we have a social tonight so I could not hit it. The hotel gym did not lend itself to 155lb SQT C&Js. So I went to a close Gold’s Gym as I have not been to a Globo Gym probably in 3-5 years.

Well I will say they did not charge me a $15 drop-in fee and let me in free when they saw my active duty military ID. That was real cool.

Immediately when I walked in I saw a guy literally posing down in the mirror, one guy doing isolated curls, and lots of women on elipitical trainers reading magazines. Man I forgot how this was. I proceeded on through the gym to find the free weights and some type of area that I could do the SQT C&Js at. So I found it and of course it was steel weights/lead, but it was a rubber floor. No chalk and no dropping weights though. I also started getting walk bys as I started warming up and doing Burgener warm-ups, OHS, C&Js etc… I forgot about the measure up and ego aspect of Globo Gyms. Well I hit today’s WOD hard and fast. Now my time was a little over average for me. The rub here is you cannot drop the steel weights and I had some guy come up right around rep 17 or so wanting to borrow some weights from my squat stand. I probably needed the rest at this point anyway. Also I laid in a pile of sweat after for at least two-three minutes.
Nonetheless TIME as RXd = 8:08

Please do not take this as knocking on the gym or people here working out, hell I am happy to see the small percentage of Americans get out and try and achieve health and fitness, wish they knew about CrossFit, but at least they are trying and some succeeding. I just really forgot about life in the Globo Gym. In closing I appreciate Gold’s Gym for letting me get my WOD in for free, but this experience really made me realize how much I enjoy and am thankful for CrossFit. “Thank You Coach Glassman.”

KLowe I am very impressed and proud of you for achieving this time. I have coached and seen some sub 5s, but a sub 4 is flat out Bad A''. Great job!

5/3/1 Bench: 150(5)-170(5)-195(10)

Scott played along @ 150(5)-170(3)-190(1) 5lb PR.
Impressive showing because he had minimal warm up and we burned through the sets.

WOD: as Rx. 23 reps at 8:00. I was concentrating on technique not intensity. Knees weren't lovin' the 3rd pull under to a full front squat and started to get really pissy after the 20th rep. Instead of being a dunderhead (as usual) called it quits.

Got to love the walk bys, especially when they get right up under you as your going into the jerk. I realize the Globo regulars seldom get to see anyone Olympic lifting and I don't think it's because they're all dimbulbs, but man... that's annoying.
