Hey, guys. I just wanted to let you all know, I had dinner Friday night at 1892 East (5 Points in the old Sazio location). It was pretty awesome. I have heard mixed reviews about the place, but I went with a group of ladies (some of whom are pretty particular about their dining experience... but that's a whole other story) and everyone loved the food. I'm sharing with you all because I love the concept of the restaurant, "We are committed to serving you and your friends and family and also to buying locally grown food, which helps support and build our community." I had flounder with spaghetti squash and carrots and it was YUMMY! They also have a decent wine & beer menu and the prices were not bad at all (I had a meal, a salad, two glasses of wine and an after dinner coffee drink and my bill was $52.) Anyway, just thought I'd share!

they have a tasty burger at lunch ;)

We ate there for dinner a while back and the food was good...just bland.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it T...maybe we will give it another shot.

Was it local flounder? ;)

Maybe we were all too tipsy from the first glass of wine to notice any blandness! The other girls had the shrimp and grits and the curry shrimp and I think one girl had the chicken & ham farfalle - they said everything was good. I loved the squash puree with the flounder & thought it was pretty tasty. Maybe we'll have to do a women's night there as another test. :) Ben - haha!

My sister belongs to a CSA which provides her with local produce, although I always tease her about her "local" tangerines and avocados.

We ate there when they first opened & had not so good service, ho hum bland food, GREAT desert...I'd love to try the burger that Em's been talking about. And come June, I'll indulge in the drinks. May give it another shot though, b/c like you, I love that they cater to the local farming community.

13:18, paired up with Aaron who was rockin' it. Have another long race this weekend, so scaled BS to 95#. Did Handstand Wall Run (20per), and those were a little frightening, not sure if I my face wouldn't smash into the floor towards the end of them!

20:00 scaled to 115# BS / 10yrd HSW

Almost 4 rounds at the 20min cutoff, had another 5 yrs to walk, but my back was pinching doing that much walking on my hands. Beleive I need to work on my core to be able to go further on my hands.

Crossfit Fairfax

3 rounds:
15 push jerk @ 135lbs
20 lateral burpees over the barbell

=14:40

135lbs got real heavy real fast. First round was unbroken and I was broken the next two rounds. This was a tough workout, especially after Angie yesterday.

Rx'd 19:33, the handstand walks just never seemed to click. The rounds were a quick set of squats then a long bout of frustration.

Lateral burpees over the barbell... I get the concept but that just sounds stupid. Great way to lose some teeth.
How about a 400m with scissors run.

1st round @65# and the wall scale (20 per round) for HSW's
then dropped to 55# for the rest of the rounds bc of my wicked hip/stripper swivel...

gotta do something about that, its so bad that its distracting to others ;)

It really wasn't that bad. Hop over with shoulders/hips perpendicular to bar, down to the deck, up, full hip open and clap as you jump back over the bar with shoulders/hips perpendicular to bar. You jump farther than you think. The weights on the barbell didn't get in the way.
