Congrats everybody! I can't say enough about how awesome Saturday was. Casey and TJ, it was incredibly cool and inspiring to tackle this with you guys.

This was the hardest thing physically I have ever done in my life. Probably one of the toughest mentally too. I spent many hours contemplating on whether or not I should even try. I wont' lie, it does suck to get so close and come up short but the disappointment always fades quickly as the positives inevitably bubble up.

8 months ago I couldn't have completed a single one of the movements. 4 months ago I couldn't have done a third of them. 4 days ago, I came a few reps short of green. Thank you Coach DB for your excellent programming and all of the CFHSV coaches for your constant motivation. I will look forward to next year's test like Christmas day.

Congrats to everyone who made the teams! I look up to each and every one of you. Saturday was truly a blessing in disguise. At first, I was hit with lumps in my throat- feelings of disappointment and frustration, and even felt dispirited; thinking I shouldn't even be in a gym with these magnificent people! However, my pity party ended quickly- destroyed by a new love for the sport, and raging fire to become the best athlete I can be. Although I may have come up a little short, I set several PR's, realized what I need to work on, gained even more respect than I thought possible for all of CFHSV's athletes, saw just how hard I could push myself, and most importantly gained a new insight to the sport. I am so thankful to be a part of such a profound community, where the coaches provide continuous support and superb programming and build wonderful relationships with all of its athletes. I am so glad I had the opportunity to test myself, and see just how far I had come in a little under a year.
Watch out black shirt club-I'm comin' for ya!

I was in awe watching this event unfold from the sidelines as my friends engaged in a 3+ hour battle with self determination and physical fatigue. I'm very proud to stand in your shadows. Jt

“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.”

I went with the lighter weight because I wanted to sprint as fast as possible. I knew the 135 would slow me down substantially.
